Happy Anniversary Les Walrond!

On this date three years ago, Les Walrond struck out 17 batters in a game against Louisville at Coca-Cola Park. Pitching all 9 innings, Walrond threw 115 pitches, 83 for strikes, and struck out the last ten batters he faced. It was the first time in franchise history that a pitcher threw a nine-inning complete game shutout. The 17 K's still sit atop both the IronPigs and International League record books for most in a game. The IronPigs won 2-0.

Walrond's record setting performance is one of the moments being honored by the IronPigs this season with a banner above the concourse. His is hanging between home plate and the Third Base Lunch Pail.
