IronPigs Split Doubleheader At Pawtucket

The IronPigs were back in Pawtucket, RI yesterday for the first time since their Division Series playoff victory last September. Playing a doubleheader so they could have off today (Easter), the IL North's top two teams from 2011 split the twinbill 4-1 (PAW) and 3-2 (LV).

Former Buffalo Bison Pat Misch made his Lehigh Valley debut in game one. He allowed all four Pawtucket runs - only two of them earned - on six hits over five innings to get the first loss of the IronPigs season. Misch had to pitch around a costly error in the 4th and 5th innings that contributed to PawSox runs. Andres Blanco drove in the lone run of the game with an RBI single in the 3rd. David Purcey struck out the side in the 6th in relief of Misch.

Game two went to the Pigs with Domonic Brown of all people delivering the game-winning two-run single in the top of the 6th. It was Brown's first hit of 2012, snapping an 0 for 8 start. Tom Cochran struggled a little bit with his command (4 walks), but got himself a W by allowing two runs over 5 innings.

Jeremy Horst (1 IP, 0 H, 2 K) and Phillippe Aumont (SV, 1 IP) closed out the game as the Pigs improved to 3-1.

A little late with the recap again so I'll pick the Pigs of the Game like yesterday: Andrew Blanco (RBI single) and Domonic Brown (GW single)
