After pitching in 28 games last season for the IronPigs, Bacon and Biscuits favorite Ryan Feierabend (still remember how to spell it on the first try!) was unceremoniously cut by the Phillies in Spring Training. The only real notice we got was buried in Baseball America's weekly Minor League transactions update.
"Feier" not: Ryan has signed on with another team and they aren't too far from the Valley. The 26-year old lefty will be the #2 starter for the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League. The York Dispatch has a great article on Ryan's comeback from Tommy John surgery in 2009 and the inspiring story of his childhood that I was unaware of until I read the article. Good luck, Ryan!
I blogged this weekend about some other former IronPigs playing in the AL this year.
