| If I ever win the Powerball |
Like every other blog and TV channel, I developed a Top (in this case) Twelve list of moments from the past year. Unfortunately I did not get around to finishing it until this weekend when it was too late to do a day-by-day countdown leading up to New Year's Eve. So, since there's nothing else going on, we'll start the countdown today with the #12 moment and work our way daily to the #1 moment of 2012 to be posted next Saturday. Hopefully there will be some other posts mixed in.
The Top 12 Moments of 2012
12. Triple-A National Championship Game Announcement (August 13)
When word leaked that the Pigs would be making a big announcement back in August, many expected another concert. Some thought maybe new uniforms for 2013. It ended up being that Coca-Cola Park will host the 2013 Triple-A National Championship Game, which the Pigs will have a shot to play in should they win the Governors' Cup next September. The game will be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network, marking the second time CCP will make a national TV appearance (the 2010 Triple-A All-Star Game was on MLB Network).
It was another great year for Coca-Cola Park all-around. Over the course of 2012, CCP was named the "Best Triple-A Ballpark" and the 48th best sporting venue in the world by Stadium Journey, it boasted the highest attendance in all of Minor League Baseball (622,421) for the second straight year, the highest average attendance per game in all of Minor League Baseball (9,153) for the third straight year, and won the Bob Freitas Award which recognizes sustained excellence in Minor League Baseball.
Check back tomorrow for moment #11.

I wish that the season starts already. 2013 is looking to be very interesting for the MLB season, but we have the World Baseball Classic up for next month.
