The Top 12 Moments of 2012: #10. Pridie's Father's Day Walk-Off

We continue our countdown of the top 12 moments from 2012 with the Pigs' extra-inning victory over Durham on Father's Day. B&B is recounting the best moments from the past year every day until we reach the #1 moment next Saturday.

10. Pridie's Single, Frandsen's Slide on Father's Day (June 17)
The IronPigs' entire mid-June series against Durham was one of the most memorable set of games in Coca-Cola Park history. It started with the return of franchise legend Rich Thompson who had been traded to Tampa Bay on May 16, not even a full month before the series began on the night of June 14. (Unsurprisingly, Richie T will appear again later in the countdown).

After the Bulls blew-out the Pigs 12-2 in the series opener, the Pigs responded with a 4-1 win on Friday behind a 3 RBI night from Kevin Frandsen. On Saturday, Rays All-Star third baseman Evan Longoria made a rehab appearance in a 3-0 Durham win.

Sunday was Father's Day and the Pigs, wearing the "Fan's Choice" jersey, beat the Bulls 2-1 to split the series.

With the game tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 11th, Kevin Frandsen led off with a single and advanced to second on a balk. Jason Pridie worked a 3-2 count before hitting the 8th pitch he saw to right-center which fell for a hit and scored Kevin Frandsen (who made a great slide) from second to win the game.
