We've reached the halfway mark in our countdown of the best moments from 2012.
At least in my opinion, for as memorable as the first seven moments have been, today's moment is the final memorable-but-not-so-memorable moment in the countdown. Moments #5 through #1 are truly memorable events to remember from the past year so stay tuned to B&B every day this week to see the top five.
But today we're still at the #6 moment and it was historic...
6. Blanco's Walk-Off Homers (May 21 & August 1)
Entering the 2012 season, no IronPigs player had ever hit multiple walk-off home runs in the same season. Andres Blanco changed that with two of them en route to a career-high 10 home runs. The first came against Louisville on May 21 and the second on August 1 in what was (at the time) a big win over Pawtucket. Blanco also became the only player in Pigs history to hit a walk-off home run and a grand slam (July 23) at CCP in the same season. The Pigs ended the year with 13 walk-off victories, the most in the IL.
